A trade licence is a certificate that authorises the applicant (the individual looking to start a business) to start a specific trade or business in a specific place. The licence, however, only permits the holder to engage in the trade or company for which it was issued. Moreover, the holder of this licence does not acquire any sort of property ownership as a result of this licence.

It is provided by the municipal corporation’s licencing division in a number of areas, including industries, engineering, health, etc. The licence is approved by the Indian government in order to enforce regulations in all of the nation’s cities. It authorises the conduct of any business or trade where it is located through letters, documents, or certificates. According to the rules and regulations of the municipal governments at the local level, licences are issued differently in each state.

1. Industries license: small, medium and large scale manufacturing factories 2. Shop license: Dangerous and Offensive trades like a sale of firewood, cracker manufacturer, candle manufacturer, barber shop, dhobi shop etc. 3. Food establishment license: Restaurants, hotels, food stall, canteen, the sale of meat & vegetables, bakeries etc.

1. The applicant must have crossed the age of 18 years 2. The applicant must not have any criminal records 3.Business must be legally permissible.
