Overview of PRO Authorization
The CPCB has introduced PRO (Producers Responsibilities Organization) regulations in response to the growing use of durable goods, which has led to environmental degradation and the need for better waste management. These guidelines are based on the principle of EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility), which holds producers accountable for the environmental impact of their goods throughout their lifecycle.
In India, PRO is specifically focused on the management of E-waste. As per the E-waste management regulations, importers, brand owners, and producers are responsible for collecting E-waste. PRO is responsible for collecting E-waste generated in India and plays a major role in handing it over to E-waste recyclers, as well as ensuring compliance with post and annual PIBO (Producers Importers Brand Owners) requirements.

Registration Process of PRO Authorization
