DOT OSP license is a permit issued by the Department of Telecommunications (DOT) in India to companies that operate as Other Service Providers (OSPs). OSPs are businesses that provide services like call centers, telebanking, telemedicine, e-commerce support, and other IT-enabled services.
The DOT OSP license is required to ensure that these companies comply with certain security and privacy requirements and use licensed telecom resources. The license is mandatory for all OSPs that use telecom resources like PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network), ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), and internet for providing their services.

OSP i.e. Other Service Providers in the Telecommunication Industry which use telecom resources provides services such as BPO/call centers, e-commerce, telebanking, telemedicine,-education, and other IT-enabled services. Department of Telecommunication has made it compulsory for OSPs using telecom resources to obtain a License referred to as a DOT OSP license.
Now, to engage with the abovementioned services using telecom resources, you are required to get the OSP License. Furthermore, the applicant of this OSP License should be an incorporated business entity. The license for OSP is valid for 20 years, if not expressly mentioned otherwise.

Step 1: Collecting Information: Firstly, after getting a request from you, our professional will reach you for getting the required information and documents.

6. Present shareholding pattern of the company (indicating Indian Equity and foreign Equity)

8. If interconnection of either one international OSP center (Company A) with another international OSP center (Company B) of Group companies is required. If so, whether in case of group companies the following documents have been submitted.
• Shareholding pattern of one international OSP center (Company A)
• Shareholding pattern of another international OSP center (Company B)
• Certificate from statutory Auditor of the company to certify that one international OSP center (Company A) & another international OSP center (Company B) are Group Companies.
• Other supporting documents, if any like balance sheet, annual report, etc. to establish that international OSP center (company A) & another international OSP center (company B) are Group Companies
9. If interconnection of either one domestic OSP center ( Company A) with another domestic OSP center (Company B) of Group companies the following documents have been submitted.
• Shareholding pattern of one domestic OSP center (Company A)
• Shareholding pattern of another domestic OSP center (Company B)
• Certificate from statutory Auditor of the company to certify that one domestic OSP center (Company A) & another domestic OSP center (Company B) is Group Companies.
• Other supporting documents, if any like balance sheet, annual report, etc. to establish that domestic OSP center (company A); another domestic OSP center (company B) are Group Companies.
The validity period is 20 years from the date of issue.
Yes, before expiry you can apply for renewal.
No, the transfer of one OSP License from one company to another is prohibited.
OSP License is a location-based license. Therefore, if you have two branches of your company, then you will need to obtain two OSP Licenses to conduct OSP operations.
The OSP License is for both inbound and outbound calls.
Annual Return of an OSP is submitted within 6 months of the completion of the financial year to the Department of Telecommunication mentioning the activities undertaken and present status of OSP. It is mandatory for OSPs to maintain compliance with the Terms and Conditions prescribed by the Department of Telecommunication for OSPs.
