Registration Cum Membership Certificate (RCMC) is a certificate issued by Export Promotional Councils (EPCs) or Commodity Boards of India. It serves as proof that the exporter is registered with the respective EPC/Commodity Board.
To apply for RCMC, exporters must register under the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) within one month from the date of the export undertaking.
Exporters can register as vendor or manufacturing exporters based on their business activities. RCMC is an essential requirement for exporters to avail various benefits from the government and promote their exports.

In accordance with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority Act, which was approved by the Parliament in December 1985, the Government of India formed the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). The Act (2 of 1986) took effect on February 13th, 1986 as a result of a notification published in the Extraordinary: Part-II of the Indian Gazette (Section 3(ii): 13.2.1986).
This certificate verifies that an exporter dealing in a certain product is registered with a specific agency or organisation that has been granted authorization by the Indian government. In the application that must be submitted to the Export Promotion Council ()/Commodity Board relating to that line of business (list of Export Promotion Councils/Commodity Boards with addresses and other details), an exporter seeking a -cum- Membership Certificate (RCMC) must identify his primary line of business.
Registration under APEDA is beneficial throughout life. Nonetheless, the APEDA authority does have the authority to withdraw it.
Once achieved, APEDA registration is good for life. Thus, there are no criteria for renewal.
